Experience
Scott Alexander has been a resident of Broward County for over thirty years. He is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell, and has been recognized by the South Florida Legal Guide as one of top attorneys in the region. He has been a partner with the law firm since 2006.
For the past fifteen years, Mr. Alexander has been engaged in a civil trial and appellate practice with emphasis on the representation of local governmental entities and their law enforcement agencies. He has extensive experience in defending law enforcement agencies and individual police officers in civil actions including false arrests, malicious prosecutions and the use of excessive force, including deadly force. Mr. Alexander also has lectured to local government risk management agencies, including the Public Risk Management Association, and is also certified by the State of Florida as an instructor for continuing education courses for adjusters. In addition to defending law enforcement, Mr. Alexander also defends both public and private entities in general liability matters including motor vehicle negligence, premises liability and medical malpractice. His several reported decisions include Whittier v. City of Sunrise, 395 Fed. Appx. 648 (11th Cir. 2010); Williams v. City of Plantation, 379 Fed. Appx. 866 (11th Cir. 2010); Whittier v. Kobayashi, 581 F.3d 304 (11th Cir. 2009) and Whittington v. Town of Surfside, 269 Fed. Appx. 918 (11th Cir. 2008).
